Next meeting this Friday 1st April

late

Don’t forget we are meeting this Friday in the library STRAIGHT after recess.  The challenge is on, how fast can you make it to the meeting?

Don’t forget to vote on our expert learner qualities of Active Thinker and Resilient and add your ideas for fundraisers before Friday…

Pssst… one more thing, don’t forget the ‘secret squirrel’ item you need to discuss with your class 😉

We look forward to seeing you then!

Mentor “Match Ups”

peer mentoring

This year we’re trialling something a little different in the hope of getting all students to have an equal say.  As we are such a big group with around 50 children present at each meeting, it can be intimidating for some students to speak their mind.  This year each SRC Executive will be mentoring  representatives from three different classes.  When issues need to be discussed, the students will break into their mentor groups to have a discussion and the Execs will report back to the group.  If representatives need clarification or information, they are encouraged to find their mentors and have them answer the questions.  It’s great to see the Executives taking on more responsibility and for all of our representatives to be involved in some cross-age peer teamwork.

Expert Learner Quality Vote 1 – Team Work

Hey CLG kids!  Please find below the Teamwork clip your SRC Exec has chosen for you.  The idea is that you watch this with your class at your next class meeting, and then vote on ONE of the animals in this clip that you think best represents the quality of Team Work.  Make sure you record your class’s vote in the comments. The animal that gets the most votes will become the CLGPS mascot for Team Work.
