SRC Celebration with an expert learner twist

Today the SRC were rewarded with all of their hard work with a special afternoon tea celebration – and scavenger hunt!  The SRC  reps joined their mentor groups and were lead by the Execs around the school on a scavenger hunt to find our expert learner mascots hidden.

FINAL SRC MEETING FOR 2016 – FRIDAY 18TH 2PM

eoy

Our final meeting will take place this FRIDAY – but instead of going through an Agenda and having a formal meeting, we will have an informal celebration to celebrate our success in 2016!  All 4 representatives from each class are invited to attend.  Boys are asked to bring a SMALL plate of savoury to share, and girls a SMALL sweet to share.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there,

Simone

EXCITING NEWS – 2017 EXECUTIVES ANNOUNCED

We had a taste of democracy this week as we went through the selection process to vote in our 2017 Executives.

Potential applicants attended a meeting last Tuesday (2nd November) to find out what it would take to lead the school (our 2016 Execs had lots of great tips!) and pick up their application kits.  Candidates then had one week to write an application and submit it to students leaders, Mr Bennallack and Simone for shortlisting.  Of the 14 applications received, 10 were shortlisted.

On Wednesday afternoon, our ‘shortlisters’ presented their speech to all students in Years 5-7 and all the SRC representatives.  After a tightly fought election, we would like to congratulate the 2017 SRC Executives –

Calling all future SRC Executives

future-leaders

A meeting was held yesterday in the library for all year 6 students who are interested in applying for the position of SRC Executive in 2017.

The 2016 Executives ran the session and informed the potential leaders of the role, responsibilities and benefits of being a school leader.

Everyone was given an application form and position description.  Hopeful applicants need to have a statement signed by their teacher recommending their suitability for the job, and must hand in a hand written application to Simone by lunch time Tuesday 8th November.  The SRC Executives will meet with Mr Bennallack and Simone to compile a shortlist.  Voting will take place at a time to be advised during week 4.

Good luck to all the applicants!
